Granny's pearls made into a new bridal necklace design

You’re getting married and have a piece of jewellery that belonged to someone very special but the style isn’t what you would choose to wear for your wedding. This jewellery dilemma is one we often get asked to help out with. Why not have the jewellery re-worked into a new bridal design just for you?

This is what one of our brides to be opted for. She has a beautiful string of pearls that belonged to her Granny. She really wants to wear something that was one of Granny’s favourites but the single strand design just isn’t her style, and she is unlikely to wear them again after her wedding. In getting ready for her wedding the bride to be has already chosen bridal jewellery and wedding hair accessories from our pearl and crystal bridal jewellery collection and wanted a necklace design that linked in with these.

Moonlight Heart Necklace

The starting point in a re-work project is to choose a bridal jewellery design that you like; in this case the bride to be chose our Moonlight Heart Necklace. Having sent the pearls to us by Special Delivery (so they were insured and we could both track their journey) we were ready to start work.

The critical point is the size of the hole in the pearls. Having cut the string of pearls, we then checked that our stringing material would pass through the beautiful pearl beads.

Design fun comes next as we try different versions of the bridal necklace style. In this case the pearls are graduated and the variation in size needs to be allowed for in the style of the necklace design. Photos and options are sent to the bride to be to enable a final choice.

Pearl and Crystal bridal jewellery

We can’t yet show you the finished new necklace design; but we can say we’re thrilled with how it looks. The crystals add a sparkly feature and offset the luscious pearls beautifully. We can’t wait to see photos of the wedding with our bride wearing her bridal jewellery and hope to share them with you later in the year.
