Wedding Jewellery and Bridal Accessories
Your wedding day is often something you have dreamt about since you were a little girl, magical and special, memories to be treasured forever. While your dress will be worn once your wedding jewellery and bridal accessories if chosen carefully will become favourites that you will wear time and time again. But what do you choose? 1. First things first
The starting point has to be your wedding dress, don’t even think accessories until you have decided on what you are going to wear. Until you have tried on a selection of dresses and found ‘the one’ for you it is not worth buying the accessories. Many brides end up ordering a dress totally different to what they first had in mind.
Once you have ordered your dress you can then plan your look and start to think wedding jewellery and accessories.
2. Wedding Dress colour
Ivory or cream wedding dresses look stunning with luxurious ivory freshwater pearls and are a traditional and classic choice for many brides. Pearls photograph beautifully with timeless elegance and Julieann wedding jewellery and accessories give a modern twist to this traditional look. Some Julieann Brides take advantage of our bespoke service having favourite jewellery reworked for their wedding. Grannies broken pearls can be given a new lease of life for your wedding day and beyond. Alternatively, you may have borrowed a tiara or piece of wedding jewellery and would like Julieann Beads to make co-ordinating accessories to link in.

Coloured wedding dresses are becoming more popular again as are ivory or cream dresses with coloured detailing. 3. Wedding dress style and detailing
One of the key points in choosing your wedding day accessories has to be the style of your wedding gown.
The style and neckline of your wedding dress will dictate your choice of jewellery. It is a good idea to echo the neckline of your wedding dress in the shape of the wedding jewellery you choose, e.g.
• Strapless and spaghetti strap wedding dresses generally suit all jewellery styles so here the World is your oyster!
• V-shapes look great with pendant necklaces such as Allure Pendant Necklace or Moonlight Heart Necklace
• Round or scoop necklines are elegant when teamed with timeless single stranded designs such as Angel or Forever necklace and bracelet sets.
• Sweetheart necklines lend themselves to simple matching heart themed wedding jewellery such as Eternity Heart Necklace and matching charm bracelet.
• Halter Neck dresses do not suit necklaces so instead opt for statement earrings (e.g. Christabelle Cascade Earrings) and a matching bracelet (e.g. Christabelle Charm Bracelet).
Look carefully at the detailing and link wedding jewellery and accessories in with this, for example;
• Gold embroidery and/or crystals or cream wedding dresses look lovely with Julieann beads ‘Forever’ or ‘Eternity’ wedding jewellery ranges.
• Silver or diamante detailing looks fabulous with handmade ‘Allure’ bridal designs.
• AB crystal encrusted wedding dresses are stunning when teamed with Julieann ‘Angel’ or ‘Truly’ bridal accessories.
• Clear sparkling crystal beadwork matches perfectly with either ‘Moonlight’ or ‘Verity’ collections.
Dresses with lots of detail need minimal accessories, the last thing you want to do is confuse the look, distract from your outfit and end up looking like a Christmas tree!
The secret is to think in threes, so a statement tiara such as Julieann Beads Moonlight Tiara looks stunning with dainty pearl earrings (Moonlight drop or pearl stud earrings are good examples) and maybe a pretty matching bracelet such as Moonlight Bracelet. A simpler tiara comb (such as Eternity Wide Comb) looks lovely with more dramatic earrings (such as Eternity Chandelier Earrings) and elegant matching bracelet (Eternity Charm Bracelet) or if you prefer smaller earrings try the same comb but with Eternity Earrings and add a pretty necklace e.g. Eternity Small Heart Necklace.
4. Veils, hairstyles, tiaras and wedding hair accessories
Veils are a very personal wedding choice. Some Julieann Brides wear a veil to the ceremony then remove it for the celebration which creates two different looks. The addition of grips (e.g. Verity grips or Angel Grips) can alter the focal points too which creates extra interest. Grips look lovely arranged in small clusters for impact or individually dotted for focal points. Why not give some to each of your bridesmaids and let them have fun deciding how they are going to wear them on your big day. This guarantees a co-ordinated cost effective look but allows them some individuality!
If you are wearing a veil which is secured to the top of your head a tiara worn in front looks stunning. Alternatively a smaller and cheaper option, which hides the veil comb just as well, is a Julieann Beads tiara comb (e.g. Eternity Tiara Comb).

Statement tiaras (e.g. Moonlight Tiara) tend to rise to a higher focal point at the front whereas the Angel and Forever style of tiaras are designed to have a soft, frothy look and a more even height all round. Beaded head bands are also a popular choice. An elegant and secure way to wear hair accessories they are particularly suitable for brides with short hair, bridesmaids and look fabulous at Grecian inspired or beach weddings. 5. Final Considerations
Ultimately remember it is your wedding day, your memories to create, your style, your look! The above points should help you to plan your wedding day look and choose your bridal accessories; just follow the sequence of thoughts and ideas.

Bridesmaids Accessories
Jewellery is a traditional gift for the bride to give to her bridesmaids. As all Julieann Beads designs come in beautiful gift boxes with satin ribbons they make the perfect ready to go present. Why not double up and give your bridesmaids beautiful hand made Julieann bridesmaid designs as thank you gifts they will always treasure, but which you know will give a co-ordinated look on your wedding day. There is nothing worse than letting bridesmaids choose for themselves and everyone wearing very different jewellery accessories that clash horribly and is very noticeable when you get the photos back!
Bridesmaid accessory style advice is roughly the same as that given above for brides. However, bridesmaids wear simplified and less ornate designs to the bride.

Julieann Glass Bead Jewellery
Julieann glass bead jewellery is all hand made; not mass produced making it something special and very different. On nylon coated wire which is soft and flexible, it is easy to wear and very comfortable. Make your colour choice depending on your hair and eye colour as well as the colour of the outfit(s) you will wear it with. You can always choose a zingy contrast for example reds look lovely with black, vibrant greens and gold with brown or pinks and purples with blue. The safer option is to go for shades around your outfit colour so charcoal grey and silver with black, tawny colours with brown and blues and grey with navy for example. If you are choosing for someone else go for the colour you often see them wearing. If still in doubt then remember that white, silver and pearls with clear crystals go with virtually everything!
1. Necklace selection
This is a personal choice but generally chose the necklace shape that echoes the neckline of your outfit. Pendants look great in v-necks and open shirts and round designs suit scoop necks. The design of Julieann glass bead necklaces usually governs their length and we therefore have a variety of styles offering a selection of sizes in each colour range. The standard necklace length of Julieann jewellery is 18” or 20” which in our experience suits the majority of customers. Ideally unless choosing one of our longer length designs select a necklace length that will hang roughly one third to half way between your collar bone and the top of the neckline. Opting for an additional extender chain give you up to 2” flexibility in the necklace length, though this is not available on all designs.
2. Earrings choice
This is a personal preference choice! Some Julieann Beads customers prefer studs, others shorter dangly styles that hang just below the ear lobe whilst some people like longer more dramatic earring designs. It is entirely up to you!
A top tip though is to wear earrings that hang either below or above the widest part of your face.
Julieann earrings are designed to get the maximum amount of light shining through the beads so they are shown to best effect. Many designs involve two strands so that there is movement and changing interest in the earring designs as they are worn.
Clip ons – Not everyone has pierced ears. Most of our designs, except for the larger ones, can be converted to clip on ear fixings. If you would prefer this option please write it in the comments box at the checkout. There is no extra charge for this service.

3. Bracelets
Ideally Julieann bracelets need to be worn slightly loose around the wrist so that they swing round when worn showing the pretty beads off to maximum effect. They are soft and flexible so that they mould to you making them comfortable and very easy to wear.
